Ohio National Guard major pleads not guilty to sex crimes involving children

A National Guard major indicted on charges he sexually abused three children, including two of his own, has pleaded not guilty and been released on $500,000 bond.

A Union County judge imposed curfew, residency and movement restrictions on the man at his arraignment Thursday.

A grand jury in central Ohio indicted the Marysville man earlier this month on charges of rape, sexual battery and gross sexual imposition between 2006 and 2012. The 17-count indictment says he's the father of two of the children, but it doesn't give his relationship with the third.

The Associated Press isn't naming the 40-year-old man to protect the children's identities.

The major's wife also pleaded not guilty to an obstructing justice charge and was released on a recognizance bond with reporting and movement restrictions.
