Northeast Ohio campus evacuated after bomb threat

Published November 20, 2014

Associated Press

Campus officials say a small college in northeast Ohio has been evacuated because of a bomb threat.

Hiram (HY'-rehm) College posted a statement on its website saying it received a bomb threat Friday afternoon and is taking the threat seriously.

Bomb threats caused evacuations Friday at campuses in Texas and North Dakota.

Hiram College's campus is located in Hiram, about 35 miles southeast of Cleveland.

Police confirm the college's evacuation but decline to provide additional information.

The college's website says it has an undergraduate enrollment of more than 1,300 students.
