WAXAHACHIE, Texas -- An elementary school in North Texas was placed on lockdown this morning as police officers surrounded a nearby bank that was reportedly robbed.
By mid-morning on Friday, the situation appeared to be resolved and police reopened the streets around the bank. FBI spokesman Mark White said it's the FBI's understanding that there was a robbery, but not a hostage situation.
The Waxahachie school district took Northside Elementary off lockdown by 9:30 a.m. and local Dallas news reported that police say everyone in the bank was safe.
