New York Boy Killed When SUV Plows Into Kickball Game

ROCHESTER, N.Y.-- Authorities say the driver of a sport utility vehicle may have had a seizure before his SUV went out of control and struck two 10-year-olds playing kickball on a western New York athletic field, killing one child and injuring the other.

Police tell media outlets that the 51-year-old man driving the SUV lost control of the vehicle around 4:30 p.m. Monday near a community center in Rochester. Officials say the vehicle veered onto a field, struck into a girl and a boy before hitting a fence and a parked car, then flipping over.

The 10-year-old boy was killed. Officials say the girl was treated at a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver was also injured.

Police say there are indications the driver may have suffered a seizure before the crash.
