New Jersey chain saw artist loses all 10 of his saws in theft from his workshop

Published May 03, 2016

A New Jersey chain saw artist says somebody nicked his tools.

Brian "Ackmonster" Ackley says someone broke into his workshop and made off with all 10 of his saws.

Ackley tells WCAU-TV (http://bit.ly/1KsB6Ta) he's been doing chain saw carvings for 15 years, creating statues and other "artsy stuff" out of stumps and toppled trees.

But he discovered Friday morning that someone had broken into the workshop next to his Bridgeton home. The theft came just days before Ackley is due to head out on his annual "carving tour" of state and county fairs on the East Coast.

Ackley said the 10 saws are valued at about $6,000 to $7,000.
