A groom spent his wedding night in jail after police say he assaulted his bride in their western Pennsylvania home after both were drinking at their reception.

Donora police tell the (Washington) Observer-Reporter (http://bit.ly/1Hb0DNO ) they needed a stun gun to subdue 31-year-old David Wachinski. He was being held down on the kitchen floor by a family friend when officers arrived at about 1 a.m. Sunday.

Wachinski's wife, Katie Thompson, told police they had gotten married on Saturday and began arguing at home.

Police say Wachinski hit her in the face, then threw the male friend who eventually subdued Wachinski into a wall, causing a hole and knocking down a flat-screen TV.

Online court records don't list an attorney for Wachinski. A phone number listed in his name has been disconnected.
