Divers have recovered the body of a man who disappeared Saturday morning in a drunken boating accident off Long Island's south shore, police said.
The body of 39-year-old Christopher Mannino was pulled from the water Saturday afternoon, the Long Island Press reported.
Disaster struck at 4:50am local time when a fishing boat and a 35-foot recreational vessel collided in Great South Bay near West Islip, a Suffolk police spokeswoman told the New York Post.
Mannino tumbled into the water and went missing. Two other people were hospitalized, according to the US Coast Guard.
The operator of the fishing boat, identified by the Long Island Press as 26-year-old Brian Andreski, was taken into custody and charged with boating while intoxicated.
