Man who climbed over White House fence sentenced to time served, to be on probation for a year

Published July 23, 2015

Associated Press

A man who climbed over the White House fence last year has been sentenced to time served.

Dominic Adesanya of Bel Air, Maryland, had pleaded guilty to entering or remaining in a restricted building or grounds after the October incident and was sentenced Thursday. He will have to complete a year of supervised release and must stay away from facilities under Secret Service protection, including the White House.

The Secret Service announced this week it plans to install sharp metal spikes on the White House fence as a temporary security measure after intruders scaled it twice in less than a year.

Adesanya's attorney has said his client is schizophrenic but is now doing well.
