A man who beat a San Francisco Giants fan outside Dodger Stadium faces a lengthy federal prison sentence for an unrelated gun crime.

A Los Angeles judge is set to sentence Louie Sanchez on Thursday for being a felon in possession of guns.

Police investigating the beating of Bryan Stow found semi-automatic rifles, other weapons and ammunition belonging to Sanchez. The arsenal was discovered at the home of his friend and co-defendant, Marvin Norwood.

The two were previously sentenced to state prison for the 2011 opening day attack that left Stow with permanent brain damage.

Prosecutors want Sanchez to serve nearly eight years in federal prison after finishing his eight-year state term.

Norwood is scheduled for sentencing for the same crime in two weeks.
