A Connecticut man is accused of phoning in a threat to the new Sandy Hook Elementary School, which replaced the building that was demolished after 20 children and six educators were shot to death there in 2012.

Newtown police arrested 28-year-old Pierre Beauvil, of Stamford, on Friday on threatening, harassment and breach of peace charges.

Police say someone called the school's main office a couple weeks ago and asked when the first day of school was. After he was told it was Aug. 29, he made a threat against the school for that day.

Newtown police say they and other area police departments are investigating whether Beauvil threatened other schools.

Beauvil was detained on $150,000 bail. It wasn't clear if he has a lawyer who could respond to the allegations.
