Authorities say a man ran from a security guard and sprayed a fire extinguisher at him during a major fire at a northern Michigan ski resort.
The Petoskey News-Review (http://bit.ly/2hmvfG3 ) says David Soltysiak has been charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.
Twelve people were injured early Sunday in a fire at the main lodge at Boyne Highlands, including a man who remains in critical condition.
A police affidavit filed in Emmet County court says a guard was trying to evacuate people from the lodge when he encountered Soltysiak. Investigators say Soltysiak refused to put down a fire extinguisher and instead sprayed it at the guard.
Soltysiak was arrested Monday and was still in jail Wednesday. He's asked for a court-appointed lawyer.
