Houston police say they've charged a 27-year-old Houston man with murder in the stabbing death of an 11-year-old who was walking home from school last month.

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner, Acting Police Chief Martha Montalvo and Harris County District Attorney Devon Anderson held a news conference Saturday morning to discuss the arrest of Andre Timothy Jackson.

Jackson was charged Friday and is being held in the Harris County Jail on $100,000 bond.

Earlier this week, authorities released surveillance video featuring a "person of interest" in the slaying of Josue Flores. The sixth-grader was attacked on May 17 as he was walking home from school.
