Mall shooting suspect had turned in 7 weapons voluntarily

A Maryland official says a federal security officer charged with killing three people, including his estranged wife, voluntarily surrendered seven guns after a March court order and officials didn't suspect he was withholding a weapon used in the shootings.

Lt. Col. Mark Roccapriore of the Prince George's County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday that Eulalio Tordil of Adelphi turned in seven guns that were consistent with a general list of five that Tordil's wife provided in seeking a protective order against him.

She wrote he had a .40-caliber weapon, a .45-caliber weapon, a revolver, an M4 assault rifle and a hunting gun. Among the guns he surrendered was a .40-caliber Smith & Wesson. He allegedly withheld a .40-caliber Glock used in the shootings.
