Maine man who owned building where 6 died in fire to be sentenced

A Maine landlord who owned a building were six people died in a fire two years ago is scheduled to be sentenced for a misdemeanor code violation.
Gregory Nisbet is set to be sentenced Thursday. Prosecutors described rooms in a Portland house he rented as "death traps" during his trial, which ended in October.
The fire happened after a Halloween party. The judge found Nisbet not guilty of manslaughter charges stemming from it.
Nisbet also was acquitted of other lesser charges. His code violation conviction related to the home not having adequate means of escape from third-floor rooms.
Nisbet faces a maximum of 180 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.
The fire was determined to be accidental, blamed on improperly discarded smoking materials on a porch.
