Los Angeles man held in sex assaults on elderly women

Los Angeles police have arrested a man they believe sexually assaulted several women — including two in their 80s.

Thirty-two-year-old Danilo Gonzalez of North Hollywood was arrested Saturday and remains jailed.

Authorities say the first attack occurred in March of last year when a 66-year-old woman was knocked out and sexually assaulted as she walked to her home in Northridge.

Investigators also believe Gonzalez is the man who assaulted an 81-year-old woman last July at a Northridge care home, a 71-year-old at her Northridge home last September, and another 81-year-old at a Northridge care home last Friday.

Police say in that case, he also tried to assault an 87-year-old before fleeing.

In most of the cases, the attacker entered through an unlocked sliding glass door.
