Indianapolis man accused in double murder of teenagers

Published December 30, 2015

Associated Press

An Indianapolis man accused of killing two teenagers who went missing on Christmas Eve has made his first court appearance on murder charges.

A Marion County judge entered a not guilty plea for 49-year-old Kevin Watkins during Wednesday's initial hearing on two counts of murder.

Prosecutors allege Watkins killed 16-year-old Satori Williams and his 15-year-old friend, Timmee Jackson. A probable cause affidavit says Watkins suspected Williams had burglarized his home.

Both teens vanished on Christmas Eve after leaving a home next door to Watkins' residence. Court documents say police found blood and apparent brain matter outside Watkins' home and two bloody trails leading away from it.

Deputy Prosecutor Denise Robinson says investigators are still searching for the victims' bodies.

Watkins' attorney declined to comment on the allegations against his client.
