Humane Society says 13 puppies found dead in creek in northwest Ohio

Published December 15, 2015

A county Humane Society is investigating the deaths of 13 puppies found in a creek in northwest Ohio.

Animal cruelty investigator Adam Herrera says the puppies were likely pit bull mixes from the same litter. He says they were probably a month or two old. Herrera believes the pups were in the water several days before they were found.

The Humane Society of Sandusky County says the puppies were found just outside of Fremont on Saturday. The organization says they were found by the property owner during a walk.

Herrera says it's difficult to tell whether the puppies were dead before hitting the water.

The organization is asking for the public's help in finding out who is responsible for the deaths, and a reward is being offered.
