A high school wrestling coach reportedly scored a takedown Friday when he confronted a burglary suspect trying to enter into his bedroom.
WISN.com reported that the homeowner, Jerril Grover, confronted the suspect—identified as Philip Tabili Jr.— knocked him from a window ledge and smashed a vase on his head.
Grover, a wrestling coach at Bradford High School, told the station that his "adrenaline kicked into action" during the encounter and eventually hogtied Tabili and laid on top of him until police arrived.
Grover told the station that the 22-year-old suspect told him that he wanted to cut his grass. The station, citing the criminal complaint, reported that Tabili told police “he uses heroin every few days and was looking for work.”
“It all worked out well in the end, and I hope the young man is getting some help,” Glover said. The station reported that Tabili was charged with burglary, theft and disorderly conduct.
