Furniture store explodes in city near Detroit

A furniture store in a city near Detroit has exploded and caught fire, possibly trapping people inside.

WXYZ-TV in Detroit says the explosion occurred about 9 a.m. Wednesday in the city of Wayne, about 15 miles west-southwest of Detroit. It is not immediately known if anyone has been injured.

Witnesses tell WWJ radio that the explosion at William C. Franks home furniture store shook surrounding buildings and that at least one person was pulled from the rubble. The Wayne city manager tells the radio station that fire officials are working to get at least person out of the collapsed building.
