Former sheriff's deputy in Oklahoma pleads not guilty of sexual battery, indecent exposure

A former Tulsa sheriff's deputy in has pleaded not guilty to charges that accuse him of sexually assaulting two women while on duty.

A judge entered the plea on behalf of Gerald Nuckolls at an arraignment Thursday. Nuckolls appeared via video from the Tulsa jail with his hands shackled at his waist. The judge also set Nuckolls' preliminary hearing for Nov. 14.

Prosecutors have charged him with sexual battery, indecent exposure and outraging public decency.

An arrest report states Nuckolls exposed himself to one woman inside his patrol vehicle and asked another woman at a house about her tattoos and if she was wearing a bra, then pulled her dress down. The report also said Nuckolls told detectives "sexual-type activity has occurred" during encounters with about six women.

Terry Funk, Nuckolls' defense attorney, said he plans to fight the allegations.
