For second time in 2 weeks, DC's Union Station evacuated

Published August 11, 2016

Associated Press

Washington's Union Station was briefly evacuated after a fire alarm went off.

Local media outlets report that the station was evacuated about 5:45 p.m. Wednesday after the alarm sounded. People were allowed back in after about 15 minutes. Officials say there was no fire.

This is the second time in two weeks that the station has been evacuated during rush hour. On July 27, the station was evacuated after transit police officers investigated a report of a suspicious package.
