Ex-Subway pitchman Jared Fogle moved to federal prison in Colorado his attorneys had sought

Published December 18, 2015

Associated Press

Former Subway pitchman Jared Fogle has been moved to a low-security federal prison in Colorado where his attorneys had sought to have him serve out his more than 15-year sentence.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons' inmate locator shows Fogle was moved from a facility in Oklahoma to suburban Denver's Federal Correctional Institution Englewood.

Fogle was sentenced Nov. 19 to a 15-year, eight-month sentence after pleading guilty to trading in child pornography and having sex with underage prostitutes.

A judge recommended Fogle receive sex offender treatment in prison and agreed to his attorneys' request to recommend he serve his time at the Colorado prison, which specializes in such treatment.

Fogle is appealing his sentence. His attorneys have until Jan. 25 to file a brief detailing the grounds for Fogle's appeal.
