The former Utah doctor charged with murder in his wife's death offered an emergency-room physician $10,000 to save his wife, according to testimony in his Provo trial.
The emergency doctor, Scott Vanwagoner, called it the oddest request of his medical career. He says he was already working to save Martin MacNeill's wife — and that MacNeill had to have known his wife was already dead.
