Published January 06, 2016

Associated Press

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.5 has shaken the inland region of Southern California.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake occurred at 6:42 a.m. Wednesday and was centered 2 miles north of Banning, about 85 miles east of Los Angeles.

A Riverside County sheriff's dispatcher in the region says it was felt but there were no immediate calls about damage or injury.
