Published January 13, 2015

Associated Press

Denver police say a hit-and-run accident Friday night killed two small children and critically injured a woman as the three crossed a street.

Police spokesman Sonny Jackson says one child was pronounced dead at the scene and the other died after being taken to Children's Hospital Colorado. Both children were younger than 5 years old.

The Denver Post reported (http://bit.ly/10194l6) that police were continuing to investigate the hit-and-run near East 14th Avenue and Yosemite Street, an intersection west of the city's downtown area. It happened after sunset and just before 8 p.m.

The Post reports police were looking for the vehicle that fled the scene. Witness reports identified it as being either a silver or white Tacoma pickup, or silver or white SUV described as possibly being a Cadillac.
