A New Hampshire man has been charged with punching his 3-month-old son, and doctors say the baby 17 broken bones and skull fractures.

Media reports say bail was set at $100,000 on Thursday for 25-year-old Jose Orta-Santana of Newmarket. He was charged with first- and second-degree assault.

Investigators say the boy was taken to a New Hampshire hospital Saturday after suffering a seizure. He was then taken to a Boston hospital, where doctors found evidence of skull fractures and 17 broken bones.

Court officials say Orta-Santana was not represented by a lawyer.
