Closing arguments scheduled in trial of Pennsylvania man with bodies in yard

Lawyers are scheduled to give closing arguments in the trial of a Pennsylvania man charged with strangling a pharmacist and the pharmacist's girlfriend more than a dozen years ago.

Prosecutors allege Hugo Selenski and a co-conspirator tortured Michael Kerkowski as part of a robbery, then killed him and his girlfriend, Tammy Fassett.

Authorities found their bodies buried behind Selenski's house north of Wilkes-Barre along with at least three other sets of human remains.

Kerkowski had pleaded guilty to running a prescription drug ring and was about to be sentenced when he and Fassett were reported missing. Prosecutors contend Selenski and another man, Paul Weakley, robbed the pharmacist of tens of thousands of dollars in illegal drug proceeds.

Weakley pleaded guilty and testified against Selenski, who faces the death penalty if convicted. Selenski has pleaded not guilty.
