A California man has been arrested in southwest Florida on an outstanding murder warrant in the death of his ex-wife.

Lonnie Kocontes was arrested Friday night and booked into the Pasco County Jail. It is unclear whether he has retained an attorney.

His ex-wife, Micki Kanesaki, went overboard from an Italian cruise ship in 2006. Her body washed ashore the next day in southwest Italy.

Fifty-two year-old Kanesaki was travelling with Kocontes.

A spokesman for ship owner Island Cruises said Kanesaki left the cabin around 1 a.m. for a cup of tea and Kocontes reported her missing when he woke up and couldn't find her.

They divorced in 2002 after six years of marriage but continued to live together for a few years after the split.
