Brigham Young University President Keven Worthen says a faculty advisory council created to review how the school handles reports of sexual assault will present its findings this fall.

The Daily Herald of Provo reports (http://bit.ly/2c4dS80 ) that Worthen made the comments Monday during a talk to BYU faculty.

The Mormon-owned university is being investigated by federal education officials about how it handles sexual assault reports.

The investigation was opened after female students and alumni spoke out against the school's practice of opening honor code investigations of students who report abuses.

All students must agree to a code that bans premarital sex and alcohol consumption, among other things.

The scrutiny comes as the school's athletic department tries to become a member of the Big 12 conference, a lucrative Power Five conference that is considering many schools.
