Bunker of man accused in Wash. killings found

Published November 20, 2014

Associated Press

Authorities in Washington state say they've discovered the deep woods bunker of a gun-toting survivalist suspected of killing his wife and daughter nearly a week ago, and they have it surrounded.

King County Sheriff's Sgt. Cindi West says authorities pumped gas into the underground bunker in the Cascade foothills east of Seattle, and they believe someone is inside.

West says photos found in Peter A. Keller's home helped them find the bunker Friday morning.

Court documents say the 41-year-old Keller collected guns and was stockpiling supplies in the woods. He hasn't been seen since a Sunday fire at his North Bend-area home, where his wife and daughter were found shot to death.

An arrest warrant issued Wednesday accuses Keller of two counts of first-degree murder and one count of first-degree arson.
