Brown U. faculty to launch AIDS project in Ghana

Four Brown University medical professors are heading to Africa to launch a program to help local medical professionals fight AIDS.

The professors will participate in a series of workshops beginning Tuesday on the latest AIDS research at the University of Ghana. The workshops are designed to help local medical professionals combat the AIDS epidemic in Africa.

The multi-year project is funded by a $1.1 million grant from the U.S. Agency for International Development.

The professors are to be joined on the trip by professors from Yale and Tufts universities.
