The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed the child’s body found at a waste treatment facility Monday night as that of 3-year-old Emilliano Terry.
The remains were identified through DNA testing conducted by the Medical Examiner’s Regional Forensic Science Laboratory.
Prosecutors said Thursday that Emilliano suffered blunt force trauma to the head and a skull fracture. The medical examiner’s office, however, says the cause and manner of death are still under investigation.
Camilia Terry, 20, Emilliano’s mother, was arraigned Thursday morning in Cleveland Municipal Court. A judge set bond at $2 million and ordered Terry not to have contact with her two other children.
Terry at first told investigators that her son went missing from Kossuth Park Sunday night. After further questioning, authorities began to doubt her story.
She was arrested Monday night after Emilliano’s body was found at the trash facility.
