Body Found in Restroom at Los Angeles Airport

LOS ANGELES -- Police believe a man whose body was found in a restroom at Los Angeles International Airport committed suicide and had a history of mental illness.

Los Angeles police Detective Mark Morgan said Wednesday that the man had tried to kill himself earlier this month and had been placed under psychiatric supervision for a three-day period.

Police believe the man committed suicide by placing a plastic shopping bag over his head. His identity was not immediately released pending notification of family.

Morgan says the man tied his hands behind his back to stop himself from ripping the bag away.

The man's body was found Wednesday morning by an airport cleaner.
