Atlanta transit officer wounded by gunshot near train station; injury is described as minor

Published December 11, 2015

Associated Press

Police say they're searching for two suspects accused of opening fire on a police officer for Atlanta's transit system, leaving the officer with injuries described as minor.

Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority police Deputy Chief Joseph Dorsey tells WSB-TV (http://bit.ly/1Y1Gvrk) that officers were chasing two suspects who had tried to rob someone Thursday night at the Hamilton Holmes train station in west Atlanta.

Dorsey says police pursued the suspects outside the station, where one of them pulled a gun and shot the officer. Dorsey tells the station the officer was "grazed" in the face by the gunfire.
