Arizona woman arrested with cocaine taped to rear end

Published January 13, 2015

Authorities say people still are trying to smuggle drugs into Arizona hidden inside their undergarments.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials in Nogales say three pounds of cocaine was found taped to the rear end of a Phoenix woman.

They say 39-year-old Dora Anna Gutierrez was arrested at the Morley pedestrian gate Tuesday. The cocaine is valued at about $24,000.

In April, authorities reported six cases of people trying to smuggle drugs into southern Arizona in their undergarments.

They say an 18-year-old man had one pound of methamphetamines concealed in his underwear and a 23-year-old woman had four pounds of heroin concealed in her bra.

In addition, four teenage girls had heroin strapped to the front of their bodies and tucked under the waistbands of their underwear.
