6-Year-Old Killed in L.A. Police Pursuit

LOS ANGELES -- A Los Angeles police pursuit has ended in a deadly crash, with the suspects' car hitting and killing a 6-year-old girl.

Officer April Harding says the chase began Thursday night after officers witnessed a drug deal in the Lakeview Terrace area.

Harding says at one point the suspects tossed a gun out of a window of the moving car. The driver lost control in a residential area and struck the girl, pinning her against a stone wall in front of a home. She died at a hospital.

Police say two passengers were taken into custody at the scene. The driver of the car fled on foot, but was captured hours later.
