4 injured in helicopter crash near Tucson

Four people have been injured in a crash of a sheriff's department helicopter on a mountain northwest of Tucson.

Deputy Jason Ogan, the spokesman for the Pima County sheriff's department, says he does not know the extent of the injuries in the Monday crash.

He also could not say whether all four people aboard are with the sheriff's department.

A spokesman for Pima County's northwest fire area, Adam Goldberg, says a technical team from the fire department is making its way up the mountain.

He describes the helicopter as perched on the side of a mountain in the Tucson range, supported in place by a tree.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
