2 officers plead not guilty in post-Katrina death

Two New Orleans police officers have pleaded not guilty to five counts of obstruction of justice and perjury in the shooting death of a man outside the city's convention center after Hurricane Katrina.
Officers Ronald Mitchell and Ray Jones are accused of lying under oath in a federal civil suit filed in the shooting death of Danny Brumfield,
According to the indictment, Mitchell shot Brumfield after he tried to flag them down.
The men were each released on $50,000 bond on Thursday and each faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted.
Trial was set for Dec. 6.
Both men were reassigned to administrative desk duty after the indictment came on Sept. 30.
