2 men crashed same car while driving drunk, police say

Published March 24, 2016

Associated Press

Police say two men were arrested for crashing the same car while taking turns driving it while drunk.

The Salem News reports 46-year-old Juan Rodriguez, of Haverhill, and 43-year-old Erik Liebowitz, of Apoka, Florida, are each charged with drunken driving and other crimes for Monday morning's crashes.

Police say Liebowitz drove onto the sidewalk, hit a sign and then returned the road, where he pulled over and Rodriguez, his passenger, got into the driver's seat. Rodriguez then struck a parked car while driving.

Police say Rodriguez also backed into the responding officer's cruiser.

Liebowitz's attorney says he's been arrested for drunken driving in Florida but never convicted.
