PRESIDENT BASHES GOP FOR NOT SUPPORTING IRAN NUCLEAR DEAL AMID REPORTS OF 'SIDE DEALS'
WAYNE ROGERS: I don’t know what the alternative is. The alternative is war, the alternative is hostility. You’ve gotta say what the alternative is if you say ‘oh there’s a better deal.’” What means better? Define better.
JONATHAN HOENIG: They’re laughing about it Eric. Meanwhile, while it’s making Iran stronger it’s making us less safe and less American. It’s legitimizing state sponsored terrorism. It’s legitimizing a country that’s holding Americans hostage. . It’s legitimizing a country that’s shouting ‘death to America,’ ‘death to Israel.’ This demeans us and emboldens Iran. This is the worst deal you could ever imagine.
MICHELLE FIELDS: Well yeah he doesn’t say what a better deal would be. Well a better deal, anyone with common sense, going to the negotiating table with Iran, would say give us back the four Americans you’re holding hostage, I mean that’s common sense. Like Jonathan said, why are we legitimizing a country that sponsors terrorism that calls for the destruction of Israel? And you know liberals and President Obama keep saying, we’ll have anytime anywhere inspections in Iran. That’s absolute nonsense, that’s garbage, if we want inspections into Iran; we have to give them notification. Then we have to give them 24 days. That’s plenty of time to remove any small scale nukes or projects. That’s what they’re going to do. They’re not going to follow any rules. People are going to cheat, and we should have asked to dismantle their nuclear program.
JESSICA TARLOV: Well, you knew Obama was going to yuck it up with Jon Stewart. As you said, he’s been there seven times. This is also a man, who we know used a selfie stick within the White House. So you know that’s going to happen. But at the end of the day, and you know this is something that happened under George Bush, we made it clear that we were not going to war with Iran. That put us on the back foot there. I mean Iran knew what was going to happen, it was going to come to a deal, and this was the best deal we were going to get out of a hostile nation. Michelle’s totally right about the 24 days, but you can’t undo a nuclear weapon in 24 days. I’m not saying more can’t be done. Tom Friedman had an amazing piece in the New York Times about how we can make sure that this deal is implemented properly, including putting a military official in charge of the inspections. Congress is passing a bill to allow the president to use force. This president and future presidents to come.
TV HOST'S RANT ON ADMIN'S HANDLING OF ISLAMIC TERRORISM GOES VIRAL
WAYNE ROGERS: Well yeah, but so what? There is no specific. She says we should do more to stop ISIS. What is more? Define more for me. No one says what it is specifically what you’re going to do. No, if you’re going to do something, you have to be specific. You have to have a specific strategy; you have to make sure it’s militarily correct and all of that. Shouting against it and being outspoken against it is wonderful, but it’s a cheerleader.
JONATHAN HOENIG: Some young people, present company not included, but some young people get it. They get that Americanism means being free. Being free to pursue your own self-interests, and you can’t do that if you have to worry about a Jihadi sneaking up behind you and beheading you at any moment. I think what’s so great about this young lady is that she makes it personal. She doesn’t want to live in a world, for decades and decades and decades that you have to worry about militant Islam. In fact her boyfriend is a serviceman in this country. So why should he be made to sacrifice? I applaud her and other Americans who take this pro-America perspective.
MICHELLE FIELDS: I think the reason why this video went viral is that she’s saying what so many Americans outside of Washington D.C. see feel and think. That’s basically that this president is not taking the threat of Muslim extremism seriously. I mean look at how long it took the president to lower the flag for the people who died in this Tennessee tragedy. It took five full days and the only reason he did that was that people were criticizing him. How ridiculous is it that our president won’t honor our fallen soldiers unless he’s shamed into doing it?
JESSICA TARLOV: It was a bipartisan rant, which I really applaud. There haven’t been many liberals out there who are saying that President Obama has been articulating the right rhetoric when it comes to Muslims and the threat of Muslim extremism in this nation. It’s now happening on our own soil on almost a weekly basis. I think not lowering the flag for five days was hugely embarrassing and sent the wrong signal to our country and our military for our servicemen who do an amazing job for this country. But I think that Obama has to get on the right page and our Army chief of staff who had his exit interview this week said that we could have stopped the rise of ISIS if we stayed in Iraq for longer. I mean we have James Comey saying that they are a bigger threat than Al Qaeda. I mean clearly we have a big problem and we have to change the way that we talk about it. Words do matter, I know everyone says that they don’t, I don’t want to talk about Scalia again, but words do matter.
GOP PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE RAND PAUL TAKES CHAINSAW TO THE TAX CODE
WAYNE ROGERS: Absolutely. The tax code is an invention of the Congress so they can do earmarks and things like that so the lobbyists have something to do. Listen; there are over 11,000 registered lobbyists in Washington. There’s a lot of them that are unregistered, and they go around and they try to peddle various things in the tax code that they can get for their clients of course. If you get rid of the tax code and put in a flat tax, all of that goes away. You don’t have to worry about your Congressmen being influenced unduly and all of those things.
JONATHAN HOENIG: Well it used to be more fair. FICA, social security, the sales tax, the corporate tax, all of the taxes that we just assume as part of our daily life weren’t originally part of our daily lives. You know, in the early 1900s you worked two, two and a half weeks to pay for government. Now we work more than a third of our lives to pay for government. You want to make a moral tax system? Make it fair, make it flat for everyone and stop picking winners and losers.
MICHELLE FIELDS: I absolutely agree. The tax code is not only complex, but it also leads to a lot of cost for us. Cost in terms of how much time and money Americans have to spend on complying with it each year. And also in terms of tax payer dollars to the administration to handle this monstrosity. So fair, flat tax. That’s what we should do.
JESSICA TARLOV: First of all, I’d like to say that this ad from Rand Paul is super fun to watch. This is something that he’s done because he’s fallen completely out of favor because he has no foreign policy strategy and he had to get everyone’s attention again. It’s a conversation we have every election, and every election it goes away. This doesn’t work, Americans don’t like it. Income inequality is one of the top issues in this election.
