NEW WORRIES D.C. SPENDING REQUESTS WILL GROW AS GLOBAL CRISES MOUNT
CHARLES PAYNE: Our military has been cut to the bone. There is always a lot of pork in this thing. There is a red flag that we need to stop cutting military spending right now.
DAGEN MCDOWELL: $5 billion for ISIS- we all know that's going to be more than that. You need to end the sequester cuts on defense spending. It's going to require a lot more in billions.
CHARLES GASPARINO: American people love pork. These congressmen are doing what their constituents' want. This is what the American people vote for. This is democracy, this is what the American people want... they want pork... I hate it. The war on terror continues and the president is going to have to fight it for the rest of his term.
BEN STEIN: Defense is the No. 1 priority for this country, and it has been cut to the bone. We have got to spend more on defense. We need to spend whatever it takes to stop these terrorists from running amuck and building an oil rich base. Whatever it takes.. that's what we have to spend. Obama has gone way too far cutting defense.
ADAM LASHINSKY: I wouldn't choose almost any of the words Ben used. At a time like this, we shouldn't be quibbling over 5 billion -- should we stamp out pork -- yes.
NEW SURVEY MINIMUM WAGE HUKE WOULD LEAD TO LAYOFFS, CURB FUTURE HIRING
CHARLES PAYNE: You will lose jobs. You are telling young people- hey don't try harder, you can't do better - this is all you can get in America.
CHARLIE GASPARINO: If the liberals of academia are saying minimum wage is bad for jobs, than its really bad. This debate is over, it's just politics.
ADAM LASHINSKY: There ought to be a minimum wage raise... this is all a negotiation.
BEN STEIN: I dislike the idea that we should thank the protesters -- they just like to protest because it's more fun than working. The fact that people are protesting means nothing. Minimum wages are low, but if economics means anything at all jobs will be lost. Get more skills, don't hire people to protest then wages will go up.
HOW "APPLE PAY" COULD IMPACT CONSUMER SPENDNG HABITS
BEN STEIN: I am worried- spending is already high and it's a serious problem. I would like to see an app tap and invest, so people can build up funds.
DAGEN MCDOWELL: Everyone needs to learn some self-control. I think its genius; it's the way of our digital economy!
CHARLIE GASPARINO: This is the most disgusting part of our consumerist economy- making it easy to spend a lot of money.
ADAM LASHINSKY: This is a cool incremental thing it's not going to radically increase spending.
