GRETA VAN SUSTEREN, FOX NEWS HOST: The woman you're about to meet is key to this murder investigation. You remember that Casey Anthony tells investigators she left little Caylee with a babysitter named Zenaida Gonzalez and never saw the child again. Well, our next guest is Zenaida Gonzalez and is suing Casey for defamation. But does this woman even know Casey Anthony?
Zenaida joins us here live, along with her lawyer, Keith Mitnik. Welcome to both of you. Keith, thank you for coming back tonight. Zenaida, first to you. Have you ever -- prior to June 16th or July 16th, have you ever heard of Casey Anthony?
ZENAIDA GONZALEZ, SUING CASEY ANTHONY: No, ma'am.
VAN SUSTEREN: Have you ever heard of Caylee Anthony before? How about Caylee Anthony before July 17th or so?
GONZALEZ: No, ma'am.
VAN SUSTEREN: Have you ever had an occupation taking care of children?
GONZALEZ: No, ma'am, I don't have that occupation.
VAN SUSTEREN: Now, at some point, the name Zenaida Gonzalez became a big name in this case. When did you first have any idea this toddler was missing?
GONZALEZ: It was I think in July when detectives got in contact with me.
VAN SUSTEREN: How did the detectives -- did they show up at your house, or did they call you?
GONZALEZ: They called me first. They called me and told me...
VAN SUSTEREN: What did they say to you?
GONZALEZ: Well, they asked me if my name was Zenaida Gonzalez and did I have a car by a certain color and if -- they asked me for my children.
VAN SUSTEREN: And what did you tell them?
GONZALEZ: And I say, yes, those two names that they mentioned were my daughters and that that was my car. And they told me that I was a suspect for a kidnapping.
VAN SUSTEREN: What did you think?
GONZALEZ: I was in shock. I didn't know what to think. I didn't understand why they would call me, first of all, because first of all -- I mean, I have children myself.
(CROSSTALK)
KEITH MITNIK, ATTORNEY FOR ZENAIDA GONZALEZ: Greta, therein lies...
VAN SUSTEREN: Go ahead, Keith.
MITNIK: Yes, I was going to say therein lies the probe. The indications when the law enforcement came to her seemed to be very specific to her, seemed to be talking about her children, her car, and seemed to have been targeting her, when she doesn't have a lick to do with this, nothing, never knew lady or her child ever. So now she's been sucked into this desperate ploy and now she's having to try to defend herself. Her lawyers now say it's not this Zenaida, but we need for Casey Anthony to say it and get to the bottom of...
VAN SUSTEREN: I get that.
MITNIK: ... Why did she tell the police...
VAN SUSTEREN: And I got that, and I know everybody -- everybody zeroed in on this woman. I totally get that this is the woman they zeroed in on and that...
(CROSSTALK)
MITNIK: If I may, one thing that...
VAN SUSTEREN: Can I just get -- I just want...
(CROSSTALK)
MITNIK: ... May not realize -- go ahead. But one little piece that they may not realize -- her lawyers in this case -- now that we have pointed the hot finger in this civil litigation at her on defamation on this, suddenly, her lawyers have told two different stories about what she told law enforcement. The first story was it couldn't be this Zenaida Gonzalez -- this Zenaida because we told her it was someone who had two children and she has six. A month later in court filings, they said it couldn't be her because we told the police that Zenaida had no children. They can't keep...
VAN SUSTEREN: All right, let me ask -- let me ask...
MITNIK: ... Their story straight even then.
VAN SUSTEREN: I'm trying to figure out what Zenaida -- it's, like, you know, the impact on her life. Zenaida, did they search your home?
GONZALEZ: Yes, they did.
VAN SUSTEREN: They tear it all apart, looking for the child?
GONZALEZ: No, they didn't tear it all apart, but they went through every room. You know, they talked to my daughters. They talked to my son.
MITNIK: Did you lose your job?
GONZALEZ: I lost my job. I lost my place to live because where I was staying at, they didn't allow me to stay there because I was accused of kidnapping a child.
VAN SUSTEREN: Zenaida, I hope that you'll come back and join us as this case continues to develop.
GONZALEZ: (INAUDIBLE) Happy to.
VAN SUSTEREN: Thank you, Zenaida. Keith, as well. Thank you both.
