Does size matter when you're buying a new TV for the Super Bowl?

Published February 05, 2015

Consumer Reports

Here's the scenario: You've invited a crowd over to watch Super Bowl XLVIII on Feb. 2. But your old TV just died and you need a new set. Your max budget for the television is $1,000.

Do you go for the biggest set you can find even though it might not have all the bells and whistles or won't be from an A-list brand?

Or do you give up a few inches of picture size and instead choose an elite-brand model with the best picture quality?

If this conundrum piques your interest, head over to our go bigger or go better discussion on Yabbly, a new platform where you can debate the topic or share your experiences with Consumer Reports' in-house product experts and other engaged readers. Jim Willcox, our All-Pro TV editor, will answer your questions and steer the discussion right up until Super Bowl weekend.

Our earlier Yabbly discussions have covered smart phone operating systems (Which mobile OS do you prefer, and why?) and the console war between XBox One and PlayStation 4 (Which gaming system do you want (or did you get) and why).
