Workers Rescued From Wet Cement at NYC Construction Site

Published January 13, 2015

Associated Press

Two construction workers were rescued after they were trapped in wet cement for about 90 minutes on Tuesday, authorities said.

The workers, who apparently had been pouring the cement at the site, were taken to the trauma unit at Lutheran Medical Center, where they were listed in stable condition, said hospital spokesman Neal Gorman. It was not immediately known what type of injuries they had or whether they would be admitted.

One firefighter suffered an injury to his hand, said Fire Department press officer Farrell Sklerov.

The incident happened around 10:35 a.m., Sklerov said, at 145 11th St. in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn.
