Train, Bus Collide, Killing 17 in Bangladesh

An official says at least 17 people were killed when a train plowed through a packed bus at a railway crossing in central Bangladeseh.

The chief government administrator in the area, Akhtar Ali Sarkar, says the accident occurred early Wednesday in Tangail district, 50 miles north of capital Dhaka.

Sarkar says another 19 people have been taken to hospital after the accident at an unmanned railway crossing.

He says all the victims have been on board the bus. No major damage was reported to the Ekota Express train.
