Stars Auction Clothes for Tsunami Relief

Actress Teri Hatcher (search) took off her clothes — but not on the set of ABC's "Desperate Housewives."

Hatcher, who won a Golden Globe for her role on the nighttime soap opera, shed the silver Donna Karan (search) dress she wore to Sunday's awards ceremony and handed it over to a fund-raising auction for victims of the Dec. 26 tsunami.

Actor Liam Neeson (search), a Golden Globe nominee for his portrayal of pioneering sex researcher Alfred Kinsey, donated his Armani tuxedo to the online event, scheduled to end Jan. 30.

The auction's organizer, the Clothes Off Our Back Foundation (search), has raised about $10,000 so far. The highest of 10 online bids for Hatcher's dress had reached $3,000 by late Monday. Neeson's tux had seven bids, with $1,500 the highest.

Michel Schneider of Clothes Off Our Back said other stars are also expected to donate their Golden Globes duds in the days ahead.

The foundation was founded in 2002 by actress Jane Kaczmarek (search) of Fox's "Malcolm in the Middle," and her actor husband, Bradley Whitford (search) of NBC's "The West Wing." It collects clothes and accessories from celebrities and designers, and auctions them to raise money for charity.
