St. Louis Man Is Gunned Down in Home Invasion

A 23-year-old St. Louis County man is dead after three men broke into a home and gunned him down. Police are searching for the assailants.

The crime happened just before 5 a.m. Wednesday in an unincorporated area of St. Louis County, near Florissant. The victim is identified as Orlanda Smith.

Police believe he was targeted by the gunmen. Officers were going door-to-door and stopping cars in the search for the gunmen, or to get more information about them.

Two women inside the home ran out and were not hurt.

Witnesses told authorities the suspects had at least two guns, and one of them may have been an assault rifle.
