Senior Fatah Official Killed in Lebanon

A Lebanese security official says a senior Fatah official has been killed in an explosion in southern Lebanon.

The official says Kamal Madhat was killed in a bombing outside the Mieh Mieh refugee camp near the southern port city of Sidon. The teeming refugee camps in the area are controlled by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' mainstream Fatah group.

The official spoke Monday on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media.
