Report: YouTube Warned by Indonesia to Remove Controversial Anti-Islamic Film

Published January 13, 2015

Associated Press

The Indonesian government has as message for YouTube regarding its posting of a controversial anti-Islamic film by a Dutch lawmaker: Remove it or else.

Mohammad Nuh, Indonesia's information minister, said Tuesday that the Indonesian government would block YouTube if its administrators refused to remove Geert Wilders' "Fitna" from the site, CNSNews reported.

A search of "Fitna" on YouTube turns up thousands of results.

The 16-minute film, which links the Muslim holy book to terrorism, has drawn criticism from the Arab League, the Organization of the Islamic Conference and the European Union, CNSNews.com reported. It has also sparked protests around the world.

The film was first uploaded to LiveLeak.com last week, but was removed after the video-sharing site reported threats against its staff.
