The parents of missing British toddler Madeleine McCann are reportedly in the middle of a bidding war between Barbara Walters and Oprah Winfrey for who will get an exclusive interview with the couple, the Daily Mail reported.
A spokesman for the McCann family told the Daily Mail representatives of the family have held talks with producers from both shows.
"We are discussing it but it doesn't mean we are definitely doing it," Clarence Mitchell told the Daily Mail, adding they would only agree to a deal to help find their 4-year-old daughter who vanished from a Portugal apartment where the family was vacationing last May. "Nothing has been agreed."
Should the Oprah deal go through, Kate and Gerry McCann would be paid close to $2 million for their story, the newspaper reported.
The family has been forced to consider the requests to tell their story, because their Find Madeleine fund is expected to run out by June, the Daily Mail reported.
Madeleine's parents are considered suspects in their daughter's disappearance, and are barred by strict Portuguese secrecy laws from talking about any aspect of the case itself, according to the report.
